What do Madonna, Drake, Charles Aznavour, Bastian Baker, Alicia Keys, Erik Truffaz and David Guetta – to name but a few – have in common?
They have all passed through the hands of Philippe Weiss and you have certainly heard many of the tracks he has mixed for the most famous artists….

Having started his “musical quest” at a very early age, by collecting vinyls, music has always been a part of his life and he knew that he would make it his profession.
Amazingly at the time, one phone call was enough for him to join the famous Studio Davout in Paris and to make his mark there. And at a rate of 400 hours of assisting per month on different albums, and different styles, Philippe Weiss trained his ears.
He quickly had the chance to assist the famous American sound engineer Tony Smalios (Tupac, Elton John, A Tribe Called Quest…), with who he learned some very important mixing bases, at the time not really available in Europe.
His first challenge was to mix (no longer as an assistant but by making real decisions by himself) a track for Assassin’s Rocking Squat and New York’s MC Supernatural: at its released, 100’000 copies were sold. From that moment on, his career never stopped.

It wasn’t until 2022 that Philippe Weiss won the Holy Grail that every mixing engineer aims for: a Grammy Award. It was while working for more than 5 years on different projects for the “house music” mega star, Black Coffee, that he reached this ultimate stage.

Come and attend his unique conference which will be given as part of PSI Audio’s 45th anniversary programme in Yverdon. Please notice the address (5 minutes from our factory).

The event will be followed by an afterparty Relec SA / PSI Audio headquarters.

Please note the other conference by Boris Blank (Yello) on the same day.
