PSI Audio invites all NAMM 2020 attendees to come and visit the Swiss manufacturer at booth 15102 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, USA, from 16th to 19th January 2020. The monitoring specialists from Switzerland exhibit their outstandingly precise and accurate active studio speakers, from the compact, yet powerful A17-M and the innovative A23-M to the subwoofers A225-M and A125-M. In addition to the monitor speakers, PSI Audio also exhibits the AVAA C20. This special product helps with controlling the part of room acoustics that is generally most challenging to treat: the low frequencies from 15 to 150 Hz.

Yverdon-les-Bains, 12th December 2019 – PSI Audio will present its line-up of maximum precision studio monitor speakers at NAMM 2020 in Anaheim, California, USA, from 16th to 19th January 2020. Among the exhibits will be the immensely popular A17-M, the new three-way-monitor A23-M and subwoofers A225-M and A125-M. For acoustic optimization and particularly the treatment of low frequency room modes, the Swiss manufacturer will also present the active bass trap AVAA C20.

A17-M: best sound in its size class

With its five-inch woofer membrane, the PSI Audio A17-M is fairly small compared to a lot of other nearfield monitor speakers. Due to the use of innovative proprietary technology like Adaptive Output Impedance (AOI), Compensated Phase Response (CPR) and Class G/H amplification, the A17-M proves to be possibly the most accurate speaker in its class. It reproduces audio with astonishing clarity throughout the spectrum – and even reaches far deeper than one would expect by looking at the driver size alone. This combination of outstanding bass frequency precision, pinpoint accuracy in reproducing the stereo image and a compact size has earned the A17-M a reputation among audio professionals as their go-to monitoring solution.

A23-M: three ways to perfection

For those who require a larger speaker, PSI Audio exhibits the A23-M at NAMM. The company’s most recent effort in achieving absolute sonic fidelity employs an all-new midrange driver developed and built in the Swiss manufacture. Also featuring other signature PSI Audio technologies like AOI and CPR, the A23-M delivers exceptional range and accuracy for discerning producers and engineers. For added flexibility, the speaker’s tweeter and midrange driver are mounted to a rotatable baffle. This clever little feature gives users the free choice between setting the A23-M up horizontally or vertically while retaining its excellent sound quality.

A225-M and A125-M: bass prowess for sceptics

While PSI Audio speakers generally provide a full and crisp bass response, they can also be enhanced by the manufacturer’s subwoofers. With a low-end spectrum extending beyond 30 Hz, the A225-M and A125-M grant all the power and precision required for immaculate bass and sub-bass reproduction down to 24 Hz (A225-M) or 28 Hz (A125-M) respectively. It might be due to the accuracy of the resulting sound image that even those appreciate the PSI Audio subwoofers who generally consider themselves sceptical of the advantages of bass extension. Which just goes to show that everyone enjoys subwoofer-enhanced audio – when it’s done right!

AVAA: active bass absorption done right

One of the most widely acclaimed technologies innovated by PSI Audio is the Active Velocity Acoustic Absorber AVAA C20. This active bass trap has the uncanny power to eliminate low-frequency resonances from a room by imposing an acoustic impedance that acts like a big hole in the wall. It “sucks in” the affected resonant frequencies between 15 and 150 Hz without introducing any form of counter-noise. Hearing the AVAA in action is truly an experience – one that visitors at NAMM 2020 will be able to make for themselves at the PSI Audio booth.
